Last Saturday I hopped on an airplane and made my way to New York...for the first time ever. My hubby picked me up at the airport and thus began my adventure in the city. Right away I felt like a fish out of water! The taxi drivers were throwing gum at each other and exchanging words and I was wondering WHAT I had gotten myself into! :)
Our hotel was right in the middle of Times Square and ALL the action. I saw so many cool things and just had a blast!!
Now, a little disclaimer about the photos: in NO way do I consider myself a landscape/street photographer, nor do I know ANYTHING about night photography...so please, IF you make it through all these pictures, keep those facts in mind! :) I was just a tourist knocking around NYC with my camera. (Along with all the other tourists that had fancy cameras! Man, there were LOTS!)

The U.N.:

The World Trade Center site:

It's still SO impossible to wrap my head around the devastation from 9/11, even after visiting the site.
The space where the buildings were is absolutely enormous.

It was so much fun to use my fisheye lens in New York!!
This church was absolutely gorgeous!

This picture was taken in FAO Schwartz...he was made entirely of jelly beans!!

I went to the coolest candy store and had to take a picture of this bathtub full of gumballs!

Grand Central Station:

I stopped at Bryant park to have lunch one afternoon.

Did you know there is an ENTIRE store dedicated to M&M's? Yeah...my kind of store! It was awesome!
I had to take a picture of this chess set for my lil' man, who is learning to play chess at school...

There are street artists everywhere and I had to snap a picture of this one.
I thought it was hilarious that this guy was having his portrait done while wearing a ski mask!!

We almost got swindled out of $40 at the Empire State Building but luckily my hubby is more level-headed that I am and didn't fall for it! :)

YAHOO! WHAT A GREAT TRIP!!! :)

Post edit:
As fun as our trip was, nothing beat coming home to these precious kids!
I missed them like crazy!!
