A six year old.

How did this happen? My lil' man went and turned six and is getting ready for first grade!!! He is such a special kid and has enriched our lives in so many ways. I know I speak for many people when I say he is such a huge blessing!! He makes us laugh and challenges us and is caring and kind and smart. He has learned so much this summer from all the reading he's done. Many of our conversations this summer have started with him saying "did you know...?" I LOVE IT!!!

His birthday was a super fun family day. He picked all of our meals and activities, including a bike ride to 5 Guys Burgers and Fries for dinner. To make the day extra special, Gramma and Grampa surprised all of us (!!) by driving 7 hours just to see lil' man for his birthday. What a special treat!!!

Here he is opening his present from "sissy" - a Buz Lightyear umbrella. TOO CUTE!!


Only this kid would be so excited to receive an encyclopedia for his birthday!! :)

Speaking of getting older, when did this girly turn 16? Seriously, she looks SO OLD in this picture!! Aaaak!




He and I got to spend some very special one-on-one time together while everyone else took naps.
