The story behind the dress...

Some of you know, my mom is MOST crafty and oh so talented! She made a lot of the clothes we wore when we were kids, and something I'm even MORE thankful for is that she meticulously stored all those special outfits and toys and pictures away in hopes that she could pass them on to us when we got older. As a result, my brother and sister and I have received these things and it's been SO fun to give them to our kids! My daughter is playing with my old barbie dolls and wearing my old dresses and my nephew wears my brother's cowboy boots, capes and aprons and plays with many of the toys that used to be his daddys. Little did I know how much I would treasure and appreciate these things - and I have learned to do the same for my kids. Thank you, mom, for these FUN memories!! I love you!

The dress that you saw B wearing in the last post was one my mom made for me long ago - she gave it to me a couple months ago, perfectly washed and pressed as if fresh off her sewing machine, and with the following picture attached...

And the dress today...

Unbelievable.... the treasures we enjoy from your mom and our kids ...the thread of memories that binds our history then and now ...pretty special stuff!

You & B have the same part in your hair, the same striking beauty; I love what you did with these photos.

Kim,
You've captured such sweet pictures of the kids. I am so impressed with your photography skills. I'm hoping to spend more time this summer getting better "acquainted" with my camera and PSE. I would love to take photos like these!
Thanks for sharing a sneak peak ... C&C's Grandma : )
